Suzuki has launched the 2008 Suzuki GSX-R750 as one of three new 2008 motorcycles at an event on the eve of the 2007 Paris Motorcycle Show.
The new 2008 Suzuki GSX-R750 features the same trio of halogen horizontally-mounted lights as the 2008 Suzuki GSX-R600, with the same vertically-stacked ‘position lamp’ to keep the traditional GSX-R look.
The 2008 Suzuki GSX-R750 has a new 750cc engine, with a big bore, short stroke; and a 15,000rpm redline. It benefits from ram-air induction via two fairing inlets, with a six-speed, close-ratio gearbox, and a back-torque-limiting clutch. The 2008 Suzuki GSX-R750 also has three-way, on-the-fly engine mapping, as with the Suzuki GSX-R1000 and 2008 Suzuki GSX-R600.
There is a 125 gram lighter rear subframe, with an adjustable Showa rear shock, and inverted Showa forks at the front. The footpegs are also adjustable, and the 2008 Suzuki GSX-R750 comes with a steering damper reactive to speed. Lighter wheels save 430 grams despite keeping the dimensions of the previous model, there are 320mm front discs with radial-mount opposed-four-piston Tokico calipers, and a 220mm rear disc in a single-piston Tokico. Lastly the fuel tank is expanded to 17 litres.
The other 2008 Suzuki motorcycles launched at the same event were the 2008 Suzuki GSX-R600, and the 2008 Suzuki DR125SM.

k,
why so negative about suzuki? what do you prefer then?
gsx-r line is not bad in my opinion!
but as much there are people there are opinions.

K,
Obviously you are mad that you don’t have one. If you have ever actually rode one, you would know why most people buy suzuki’s. Either you are simply jealous because you drive an f4i or you are a rich snob who has an aprillia or ducati 1098S…either way…quit being a douchbag.

Well I’m not rich but I am dumping my Ducati for a new 08 GSXR 750 or the new ZX10.
Bikes are like chicks the good looking ones are great for show but if you want a good ride you need to sacrifice looks for performance!
Not, to mention the cost of upkeep people pay just to look good.

I’m not a big Suzuki fan, but the new 750 looks great!!! K, i don’t know what is worng with you, but please get over yourself!
October 14th, 2007 at 3:05 pm
About GSX_R´s, there´s no argument- they are simply and clearly the best sportsbikes. What people think about the looks is beside the point.
They are adictive- try one and nothing else will ever satisfy you again- let you senses decide.
As for me I falling in Love with the white one…
October 16th, 2007 at 1:28 pm
So, looks aside (Apart from the exhaust i personally think they look pretty good)…
what else is there to rave about - power and weight stats???
I also think Suzuki are the only ones clever enough to still produce a 750… so no competition there!!! Im gonna buy one.
PS) to the haters - suzuki and the other jap manufacturers are producing machines no1 thought would ever be possible a few years ago - so get some perspective!!! — I work in the industry I should know!

I dont know why people hate on the Suzukis looks so much. R1s and Ninjas look and feel bulky and wide, CBRs used to look ok, the 08 is ugly as hell - So the way I see it, the Suzukis look, and feel, AND ride best. And forget paying 20 grand on a Ducati and paying service bills in the thousands, I’d rather have my GSXR 1000 which will outperform a Ducati 1098 all day.

i started on a kawa, then a yummy and now a suzuki gsxr 750 k7. wooooow no goin back!!!!!
November 7th, 2007 at 7:03 am
Well, the new 750’s are definately mad sick. I had an ‘03 model (god rest her soul) and it was amazing. I can only imagine what the ‘08 will be like. Oh and “k” as for talking shit anyone can do that. I have ridden everything, even the italian bikes, and nothing compares to the ride and feel that the GSXR gives you. I have turned many faithfulls away from their loyal brand and onto a GSXR.
750’s are forever………
November 9th, 2007 at 10:21 pm
WELL I CANNOT WAIT TO GET MINE IT IS ON ORDER RIGHT NOW! AAAAAHHHHHH I CANT WAIT THE ORANGE AND BLACK IS SO HOT!
November 10th, 2007 at 8:19 pm
I have a k6 750, having worked in the industry and ridden every single bike out there - there’s nothing like it! they’re agile and flickable, there’s power on tap almost everywhere and they’re not stupid hard on the suspension like some others.
Can’t see why you’d want a 1000 - you can’t use the power anywhere below about 120mph or its constantly trying to lift the front or spin the back! The thou’s are heavier and you can feel the weight too!
It’s gotta be the 750 - best of the 600 and the thou rolled into one neat, amazing machine - I’d never, ever get anything else - well, unless they make a real cock-up on the next model!!
November 15th, 2007 at 1:12 pm
go suzuki, go! the 750 is probably the best bike in world at the moment.
November 25th, 2007 at 12:50 am
SUZUKI has it all : the design , and the performance all combined . To k , u should control your languages , its really disgusting wht u r saying ! anyway hope dat ist known by many of you : A Gixxie is too powerful : a gixxie 750 can fuck the shit of any 1000 cc u know in d market ! I love my Gixxie 750 (all black) and am keeping it as long as it will always give me the power and the speed i like ( gixxie 750 top speed is around 307km/h), for those who dont like suzuki then THATS YOUR PROBLEM !!!
November 27th, 2007 at 12:42 am
Bikes are like chicks??? Christ cant you come up with anything better…
Personally i have always been a huge fan of hondas, but the new 08 gsxr has really won me over - and the other half has just given me the go ahead to get one next year - cannot wait…
the only thing i am concerned about is the build quality of the bike. From what I saw at the show, the fairing was not a little loose on the bike - i understand that the bike was a preprod, but it still is a concern. But from discussion with a company in Italy that does carbon fibre and waiting to hear back from them - that may be sorted. Its funny, the blade (i find the tank uncomfortable) and the kwak 10 (the ride a little bit too rough) - did not appeal to me - i have always liked the gsxr 1000 but tbh its power is just a little bit on the scary side… so be good to try the 750 out on the road…
Any useful advice appreciated!!

Suzukis are pretty much the dominant force in sportbikes, but i wish they had cleaner welds and maybe underseat exhaust, then they definetly couldnt be touched,o yeah and the gsxr 750 is way to powerfull, borderline ridiculous-dont get to cocky or the 750 will put you on your back- o yeah( K ) when you get hated on that means your doin somethin right, so now i am almost possitve suzuki is the shit!
December 7th, 2007 at 4:28 am
I have an 07 GSXR the best bike I have ever owned.Power is awesome and the bike handles like a 600 light & nimble, i will never get anything else.
December 17th, 2007 at 9:48 pm
I used to ride a ninja zx6r. I loved it, but ever since the gixer started looking meaner and meaner its appealed to me. I used to sell gixers this summer and I fell in love with the 07 til I saw the new 08’s online. The new headlight looks amazing along with the already integrated signals. The bike is just down right sexy looking and is deffinetly my next purchase. The only thing I have to disagree with is the on the fly remaping. They should have left that on the 1000, and what is it with that nasty exhust. Should have left the shorty pipe on it like the 07. But who actually leaves on the factory exhust anyways. Thats usually the 1st thing to go. Should have also left the clear tail light cover on it instead of going red. Great looking bike, better then the 07, but to many changes for a 1 year jump. The colors are really going to sell it this year. Everyone wanted the orange/black 1000, but it was to much power. All the other bikes these days are more for the track(look at the yamahas), this will be a great road bike. Love the black. Add a little chrome and daaaaamn. And for the people who like the undertail exhust, just say no. The carbon monoxide dirtys the tail and the seat gets way to hot for those 90 degree days. Just get a shorty pipe. Just my opinoin. Good job Suzuki! Keep it up.

Suzukis are a force slick.. light & nimble, be it 1000 or 750. I owned a honda blackbird but would love to buy a gsxr750!
K… noob squids… I thought that was u.. u better learn to ride rather than post crap!
December 21st, 2007 at 8:00 pm
I had an 07 gixxer 600 and I’m getting the 08 750. Those bikes are the best out there pound for pound.
Fact: inter-grated turn signals. Kawi, Honda and Yahmi still have yet to get that straight. On Ducatti’s have that feature
Fact: Suz come STOCK with steering stabilizes. The 08’s have and electronic one that adjusts with higher speeds. Kawi…no. Ducatti 848…no. R6….No
Fact: Suz. come with on-the -fly mapping mode ajustment options
Fact: Suz. comes with the seat cowl thrown in. You don’t have to go out and purchase a solo seat.
Fact: Suz. cost less!!!! And you get more. What else to you need?

Certainly the opinions on this bike are going to be mostly positive (however, someone always has to cry like a bitch (K)) but after looking all across Canada for a new ‘07 or even ‘06 750 (in grey or blue not white) and only finding one, which sold before I could act, shows that the bikes popularity and reputation is very strong. You can’t argue facts.
That being said my all black K8 replacing my Honda VTR-1000 is expected in sometime in March… can’t wait!
March 2nd, 2008 at 10:06 pm
Man that bike looks stunning!!!!
March 3rd, 2008 at 12:09 pm
I have read reviews from bike mags that all say Suzuki GSXs r very well built and handles exceptionally…And after hearing the positive feedbck from u guys (and a few girls) i’m more convinced of getting one myself…anyone has RM70,000 to spare?? hahaha…better start saving!!
March 6th, 2008 at 12:11 am
The exhust on almost all 08 bike look crap all becasue they are trying to meet the EURO3 emissions standard. I’m up for an upgread this year and this one is back on the top of my list. I can’t wait to see what colours they release in OZ.
March 11th, 2008 at 6:55 am
i own a gxr750 k7 and i think its the most amazing bike out there ive ridden a bunch of other bikes and none of them compare to 750 so quit talkin shit bout suzuki they r the greatest and one of the most comfortable bikes out there
March 16th, 2008 at 4:24 pm
If the bike looked like ass I would still ride it. It will be the best street/track bike out. There is a reason they are the best selling bike.
April 17th, 2008 at 12:33 am
ive had an r6 and played with jixxers, but yesterday i went and bought a 08 jixxer 600 and the difference between the r6 and the jixxer is incredible, suzuki jsut makes better bikes period.
April 28th, 2008 at 6:58 pm
I own k6 bk/yl gsxr-750. All manufactures make well performing machines. So it’s no need to down fellow bikers, were all bikers. Get what bike you prefer and shut-up. But If you want to win the checker flag, if you want to run in the front of the group, if you want to hang a curve and feel like you’re in a dream, if you want to hear an induction howl that will hypnotize all, if want a bike when you turn the key and here that fuel injection you know it’s time to ride the the most well-balanced machine in the world that started the SUPERBIKE LEGACY. Then the choice is simple GSXR-750. Now this is a hyper-sport machine as it heritage is known. Are you up to the challenge.

May 13th, 2008 at 12:31 pm

May 14th, 2008 at 8:48 am
Hey guys/gals(if there are any, dunno lol)
I need a little help, at the moment im deciding whether to get a gsxr 1000 or a cbr 1000 both brand new and 08 models, ive always leaned toward the gsxr but the new machine honda has made has recieved some amazing reviews and some track data says that its now right next to the gsxr in performance this year, sorta ugly ill admit, but the performance is what counts, i really do love gsxrs and defend there name as much as i can against yamaha riders but i dont know what to do, PLEASE SOME ONE can you help me with ur opinions and input, oh and if it helps i ride a 06 gsxr 600 lol forgot to mention that,
Thank you
George =)

I have the 08 gsxr750, all black of course. before that I had a gsxr600 2007. i think the difference is pretty substantial but I have gotten on the back of the new08 and the older 07 cbr 600 and they have nothing on the gixxer. Honda is just as unconfortable as always not to mention ugly. the new gixxer is comfortable, powerful and HOTT. get one, I advise it.
