Honda has launched the 2008 Honda XL700V Transalp at the 2007 Paris Motorcycle Show in a new motorcycle line-up which also includes the 2008 Honda CBR1000RR FireBlade and the 2008 Honda CBF600 and CBF600S.
The 2008Honda Transalp marks the first update for several years for the perennial Honda which has always had a reasonable following on the continent. The styling has been brought up to date with new bodywork, a smaller frontal area, and a bikini windscreen.
The Honda is also narrower overall, and rather than trying to shield the rider from any windblast, the motorcycle now tries to use it to enhance comort and take weight off the motorcyclist. The 2008 Honda Transalp has a smaller tank size than previous models, but the actual range is extended due to improved fuel economy.
The frame, chassis and suspension are essentially unchanged from the current model, but the new 680 V-Twin engine is lighter and more powerful with a new fuel-injection system and catalytic emission system. The engine has been tuned for a strong, smooth spread of power for on, and off-road riding.
The 2008 Honda XL700V Tranalp now has a longer wheelbase, plus a smaller front wheel for better town riding (dozn from 21″ to 19″). It also now uses a 130/80 radial rear tyre, rather than the earlier 120/90, to give better stability.
Available with optional Combined-ABS, the 2008 Honda XL700V Transalp is available in Barley Yellow Metallic, Carnelian Red Metallic; Anchor Grey Metallic; and Moody Blue Metallic.
Also launched by Honda at the same event were the 2008 Honda CBR1000RR, qnd the 2008 Honda CBF600/CBF600S.

i do agree with BikerGirl, the visor seems a bit too much with the bike, cut off the visor and change the rim, that 19 inch rim look like an old bike, change to a modified rim and it will look better(for me at least)
