Forum post about Honda CBR600FS 2001

Honda faced a tough dilemma with the 2001 update of its CBR600FS all-rounder. The oppositsion had becoume much sportier and track oriented, particulary Yamaha’s R6 and the Suzuki GSX-R600K1. Honda engineers either had to move the CBE away from its parctical everyman appeal, or find a compromise way to inject some much-needed sportness. The CBR600F Sport, launched alongside the CBR600F, was the answer. The styling points to the track - a racestyle stepped seat frame completes the cosmetic changes. No grabrail or centrestand saves 1kg (2,2lbs) in weight. The engine in modified for enhanced race tuning potential.

i am looking to buy a bike like this one would this be a good idea for a first bike or not

    hi Blake,
for your very first bike i would not recommend it, bu if you are a very cautious driver, and going to learn to control the bike, before taking the maximum out of it, then is’s no big difference. It always depends on the driver.

IT SURE IS A FAST AND BEATIFUL BIKE I MAY SAY..so make up your mind on your own, after thinking it throw.
    Good luck
