cagva xtra raptor

Launched in 2001, this factory-built special is based around a higher-specification V-Raptor, and is a limited production model of 999 units, each having a numbered plaque on the top yoke. All bodywork is finished in carbon-fibre, which adds 50mm (2in) to the rear ride height. This has the effect of sharpening the steering still further, and shortening the wheelbase by 10mm (0.4in). To counter any possible instability the steeper steering, the Xtra Raptor has a neat steering damper, installed parallel with the lower yoke.

Top speed: 237km/h (147mph)

Engine type: 996cc, I/c 90ยบ V-twin, eight-valve, DOHC

Maximum power: 79kW (106bhp) @ 8500rpm

Frame type: steel-tube trellis

Tyre size: front 120/70 17, rear 180/55 17

Final drive: chain

Gearbox: six-speed

Weight: 197kg (434lb)
